'3G iPhone' speculation at fever pitch

Apparently it might have a camera on the front for video calling -and 3g - how cutting edge (didn't my Nokia 6680 have this about 3 years ago......)!

    They might catch up soon

I'm sure your nokia also had wifi, a touch screen and 16GB of storage too?

Nope - it was a phone (with a few extra bits) not a pretty ipod with a phone nailed on. I could use it as a modem too.

So your point is what exactly?

People had 3G phones with video calling 3 years ago and therefore the supposed next gen iphone is crap?

Not at all - I was just very surprised by the tone of the article - the way it was written, you'd think these things were cutting edge new innovations.

I'm sure it'll be a very nice phone. TBH I didn't realise they weren't 3g already and I was a bit surprised by that as well.

You're surprised that something written by a tech journalist is inane rubbish that misses the point?

Also, note that the content is actually taken from silicon.com, so it was originally written for a US audience - 3G is still the Next Big Thing over there, given how far behind Europe they are in "cellphone" technologies.
