Panorama last night was interesting as well. Particularly the report following the Guards on their return from Afghanistan. The Major's comments about young men losing their lives serving their country compared to the scumbags (his words) shooting and stabbing people on the UK's streets, with no respect for anything, I couldn't help but agree with.

Possibly an argument for national service?
        Older and ...well, just older!!

All fine and well, except we've a government that sends it's young soldiers on dodgy foreign wars with no public support and no real justification ...

Least those who volunteered accept the risks voluntarily.

no real justification! you seem to have forgotten about the jets they rammed into the WTC

the real problem is they are being forced to fight with both hands tied behind their backs

Those responsible for WTC came from Afghanistan. So why invade Iraq?

War in Afghanistan is virtually unwinnable. As the Russians found out 25 years ago.
