Right, it was my dad's birthday yesterday, and I'm seeing him tomorrow. I have two hours to think of something to get him before I go out at lunchtime.

You lot are clever, original, thoughtful, with a good sense of humour, right? Any suggestions?

What kind of things does he like?

Books, magazines, music.

Does he prefer experiences to 'things'?

Sorry, naturally, you are all that too.

Cheap and cheerful is probably better, unless it's a really good idea!

The Talisker 8 year old would show how much you care or the Ben Wyvis if you are feeling flush. Old Fettercairn and Highland Park do some nice old ones too.

Good call - was going to suggest a good bottle of whiskey.

Is there such a thing ?
Not for me personally, but I'm reliably informed that such things exist.

Well I went out to get a present, but as usual ended up buying something for myself instead.

But I did get a nice pack of socks and a new cap...
