    Politics, it's a funny old game

    Wendy Alexander has resigned as Labour leader in the Scottish Parliament because of fall-out arising from accepting a donation from a donor in Jersey

    Now the person who arranged the donation (and had to give up a position as transport spokesman as a result) is thinking of standing as a candidate for Wendy's job

      This is a whole new slant on the modern version of "taking responsibility": I take full responsibility and will therefore accept a promotion.

        The Scottish Parliament's standards committee recommended MSPs vote to ban her from parliament for one day after she failed to declare donations on her MSP register of interests.
        Ooh I bet she's quaking in her boots.
