800,000 people have been on sick for over 10 years

    http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/...de_or_more.php

More than 800,000 people, almost 100,000 in Scotland, have been claiming incapacity benefits for more than a decade, it was revealed yesterday.

UK Government figures, in response to Conservative parliamentary questions, showed 806,630 claimants across Britain - nearly one-third of all those who claim Incapacity Benefit (IB) and Severe Disablement Allowance - have received their benefits for more than 10 years. The total for all people currently on benefits is 2.65 million.

No unemployment under New Labour, just a lot of people sick of working.

That's how you keep unemployment down. That and creating thousands of public sector jobs.

Explain why there are so many 'blue badges' in this country.

the key here is "over 10 years" the mass migration to 'the Sick' started in the late 80s 90s. It's a Conservative trick that Labour were never going to give up, infact they shovelled a few more aboard
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I think most people realise that all statistics are meaningless now. At least 75% of them anyway.

Good point, Bagpuss! Unless they all threw lifelong sickies during Tory times, knowing that NL were coming in.... I don't think so.

Are you somehow expected to miraculously recover from Severe Disablement after a few years then? I thought we didn't believe in Jesus on here?

You can be on the sick for Depression/Stress and other fairly minor 'disabilities' as many scammers know. These people are robbing from the genuine disabled. it's a wonder they don't pretend to be old to get meals on wheels.

The ‘make the bastards work’ brigade always ignores the other side of the equation: who want to employ them? Unless there is some form of compulsion on employers to take them, they will never ‘get a job’.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

                    And then hear the squeals!

Or take them all on in public sector jobs, and either pay more taxes to pay their wages, or sack all the existing public sector workers, and watch the unemployment figures.

Or just let them all choose between starving and running wild in the streets robbing and killing.
Vote Conservative, you know it makes sense.
