    Persimmon makes 1,100 UK job cuts

    Plus FTSE has tanked - 2.4% down so far today. Am sure it will climb to be 40 points up by the end of the day but still looks pretty scary out there.

          I get the feeling that the "bad times" are never actually going to arrive. We've been told the recession was "just around the corner" for about a year now. What's happened is the housing bubble has deflated a bit. People may have to do without that second iPod per year, and stay with their current mobile contract and phoen for 6 months longer than before.
