    Porn Kills?

Re the 'crackdown' on violent porn following the murder of a teacher.
Does access to porn unbalance people or are unbalanced people likely to act on their fantasies, or it is just another bs excuse to attack personal freedom?

Discuss, or abuse whomever you like.
    Why not?

    abuse whomever you like.
I thought that was the whole nature of the debate...

...ahem...not having ever seen any porn, I can only make a guess However, I'd say that individuals who go out and attack women on the basis of their sexual fantasies have problems rooted far deeper than any movie or magazine.

Is someone who watches Hollywood movies and enjoys the 'love scenes' really any better than someone watching the latest Jenna offering?

Strikes me as much the same as the endless violent video games nonsense. Playing violent games doesn't turn you into a violent psychopath, but violent psychopaths do enjoy playing violent games. It's all @rse about tit you see, but not as much of a deal for the Daily Mail to bang on about.

Perhaps violent porn actually helps defuse some of the borderline cases? Franco, possibly.

As a kid, I loved watching violent '18 cert' movies and playing violent games. Apart from my nocturnal neighbourhood lurking, I haven't turned into a criminal, and I no longer watch such movies. It was just a stage I went through and grew out of.

Look at the hysteria surround GTA SA. Put a sex scene into a game and suddenly the world is about to end. Yet a woman kicks a granny to death in Scotland over a parking space and the law lets her go.

Exactly, but as soon as a violent psychopath kills someone and it turns out (unsurprisingly) that they liked playing violent games, all of a sudden it's the game wot dun it and the Daily Mail is off on a crusade to get everything banned. Mind you, the moral minority often have great difficulty in sorting out cause and effect in the right order.

Before we know it, we'll be handing out ASBOs prohibiting people from mowing their lawn in a bikini.

                  Oh.

                    Slippery slope

It's the slippery slope to the censored internet.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
