I trust that no-one is using this on their companies machine at home

Why would you need another Anti-V program if you are running Windows live one care?
If you have configured it properly it has an excellent firewall, phishing filter & anti-virus and anti-spyware. along with several other excellent features.
Running certain Anti-virus programs alongside one care can cause severe conflict problems, I would check the Microsoft list of conflicting programs before installing another.

Also be aware that running two firewalls in tandem can significantly slow down your system and cause further conflicts.

I run One care alone on a Vista platform and have no complaints whatsoever.

Think carefully about what you are about to do.
Confusion is a natural state of being

I think the OP is looking for a free version, doesn't one care carry a subscription ?

However, like you say either stick with the version of onecare or ditch it for a free one.
