Black people commit crimes because they are poor. When they are locked up it costs like £50K a year to keep them in prison.

Since it is because they are poor, why not give every black person £50K now and then save when they stop committing crimes.

Because poor people have no clue about budgeting, and will back on the "rob" within 6 months.

not a bad idea - obviously the money would need to be invested in education, communities, housing, neighbourhood regeneration and suchlike rather than just writing a cheque.....but definitely not a bad idea.

My idea is better and more likely to yield results:

Anyone caught committing a serious crime - and guilty beyond doubt - should be given capital punishment or have the offending body part chopped off.

Does this fit under shariah law? (probably not the 100% certainty of guilt bit)

the thing about sharia law is that i reckon most of you tory boys and UKIP headbangers would be totally in favour of it if it weren't for the inconvenient brownness of it's most ardent proponents....
