New version of SKA - v0.1.5

Subject - previously expressed input was taken into account, specifically search for IR35 and "Bristol City" have more relevant matches.

45 mln indexed pages total size of which was 712 GB (almost a TeraByte, get this Sandy so-called DBA!)

Real-time domain clustering that we all take for granted was one hell of a b1tch to implement, I tell ya its not straightforward at all, but the results are worth it -- I think poor old Altavista did not solve this problem, but I ain't them!

So SKA is just another search engine? I thought it ws going to be something that there was at least a requirement for.

      As of 08:20, I can't access it!

Btw, AtW, how often are your indexes updated?

Hey, AtW, I just had an idea - Why not rename your app SKUA - "Super Killer User App". The skua is a type of sea gull that survives by scrounging what it can find see http://www.70south.com/resources/ani.../antarcticskua :

To survive, Skuas feed on the eggs and chicks of the Adelie penguins, as well as fish, human waste, and basically anything edible they can find.

You probably don't have port 8888 open on your proxy/firewall

AtW - why are you forcing users to use port 8888 to access the search engine?

It's also a rather effective missile...

I did a search for "blue faced boobies" - with the quotes.

SKA came back with about 171 sites most of which are for porn.

Google came back with about 54 sites all of which are about birds.

I leave it to you to decide which search engine I'll be using.

"QPR director gun" without quotes returns 6 sites totally unrelated to the events at QPR on the weekend.

Google returned "about 53500", of which at least the first 30 were exactly what I was looking for.

Is SKA some kind of search engine with censorship filters? Might go down well in China and Norh Korea, but not sure about the rest of the world!
