Dinosaurs stopped evolving millions of years earlier than thought

Dinosaurs finished evolving millions of years earlier than previously thought according to new "family tree" of the creatures analysed by scientists.

The giant beasts stopped developing around 50 million years before they became extinct,

    Wise ones.
    How can something stop evolving?
    I'm stumped on this one.

By being perfectly adapted to the environment?

If all of the available (favourable) genetic traits have been adopted through the evolution process then I suppose that is having "stopped evolving".

A species can't stop evolving (assuming that Darwin fella was right). Have you been on those Creationist websites?

I thought that theory was under serious doubt (as they didn't go extinct quickly). Having said that the old meteorite theory gave me a gift of a question for Biology A level (Iridium poisoning = constipation or something like that)

AIUI, they died out over a long time because the dust cloud from the meteorite took a while to block out the sun and kill off the bottom of the food chain.
