    The Official Local News Thread

Inspired by the inclusion of a local news link in TLG's post and because I have always loved reading local news stories, here is a thread to share your local news gems.

Some recent 'news' from my neck of the woods: There were 170 people at the church service, where a guard of honour was formed by Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.
Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion.

                In Leicester, pretty much so

His family still have a fruit and veg stall on Leicester Market. At the height of his football-playing career they were fined by Trading Standards for using dodgy weights and giving short measure, but nobody talks about that anymore...

Oooh, here's a bit of a contentious one from my local
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
