Good time to Fix Gas & Electric Bills ?

Who's fixing their gas and electric bills - is the mention of 35% increase fooling the public ?

Fixed ours last Friday just 24hours before they'd pulled out the offer.

It's not fooling me - it's more than that:
It has now emerged many British Gas customers will be paying substantially more than the 35% increase it quoted on Wednesday. At least 1.6m customers (out of 15.9m) who only take gas from the firm, and pay by monthly direct debit, are now paying up to 43% more for their gas than they were at the start of the week.

Correct. Yet BG still get away with charging more.

Shifted to BG Click 5 just two days before BG increased. Apparently Click 5 hasn't gone up (Yet!). I've saved £200 from npower ONE. I looked at fixing, but they all estimated £50+ over the npower amount.

So I'm sticking with BG for now. Worst comes to worst..I'll be paying no more than I would have if npower doesn't increase. Unless there is a gigantic increase in January.

It's all a big con. If you're happy with the service you're getting, you're better off staying put in the long run. All prices can and will go up, regardless of if you think you've "fixed" or not. In the small print it will state that the offer can be withdrawn at any time if it adversely affects the profitability of the company. All they're doing is using the current "crisis" as a smokescreen to get more customers in.

Gas prices will drop soon. There has been over speculation.
