Can anyone recommend a good B&B in Cardiff

I'm starting a new gig in Cardiff next week, and as it's too far to commute from London I wondered if anyone knows a good/cheap B&B thereabouts.

Also, what's the rush hour like in Cardiff? I'd prefer to be out in the sticks a few miles, but if the morning traffic there is anything like as bad as most places I'll need to be in the city centre practically bang on the client's doorstep.

Well done. I might start looking for work one of these days, and see if my CV hasn't been irreparably damaged by my last non-mainstream (CAD/CAM) work-from-home paying peanuts and generally being lazy for a bit gig.

I usually look for a cheap bedsit rather than B & B's. I contracted with BT in Cardiff for a while about 6 years ago and commuted in by car and train, and don't recall the traffic being excessively bad when the rush hour was avoided. It's not too far to walk from the station to the centre either (and BT if you're contracting there).

Newport might be a better and much cheaper option. I used to stay there months on end a few years ago. PM me for a recommendation.

Rush hour is not too bad - Depends on which direction you are travelling from. (Parking is a expensive)

There are loads of B&B walking distance from the City Centre. City Rd & Newport Rd

You could look a little further away - A place called..

The Heath - 1 Train station away from Queen St - 2 from Central (Quiet area)

            Places to aviod

            Riverside
            Grangetown
            Some Parts of Canton

Riverside? Oh carp, I've chosen a B&B slap bang in the middle of Riverside - Ty Rosa Gay B&B (Well it was cheap, and the only one with five stars in the Google map cited by scooterscot, and anyway the rooms are sure to have locks aren't they )

Would the reason to avoid Riverside relate to the nearby river being prone to flooding, or are we talking car jackers and muggers etc?

Pity I've just re-let a furnished property on Cardiff road, right by junction 28.
It would have been Ideal as only 15 Mins from Cardiff.
