    CMS advice

    I am looking into a CMS for my wife's legal practice.

    She obviously needs security and integration with Office. I have looked at Alfresco (partly because it has a Open Source version). Has anyone on here used it.

    I also looked at Drupal and Joomla. Joomla can't version documents and neither seems to have a nice integration with Windows. sharepoint obviously has cost issues...and she wants free initially.

    A mix of Drupal/Joomla and Alfresco would really do the trick. Is there such a beast?

    Sharepoint Services 3.0 is a free part of Windows Server 2003. Got the server, you got the Sharepoint Services.

      If you can afford the server. What does Windows Server 2005/2008 go for. I'm sure it must be more than £1,000.

      I suppose I should have said "must run on Linux".

          Who's your lawyer? I think you're being had. The wife only charges £200/hr. But most of her work is done on flat rate basis - as she is an immigration lawyer. Maximum fee £1400 average fee £500. Currently only three cases on the go.

            Must run on Linux and integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Office.

            Good luck.

            PS. An OEM version of Windows 2003 R2 costs around £400.

                  What does Alfresco not do that you want?

                  Joomla/Drupels are more along the lines of a community site or a shopping site depending on what you bolt in. I would not see either of them as anything akin to sharepoint....
