    Doom - WWIII

Russia to recognise breakaway region's independence

Mr Medvedev has already pledged to "make the decision which unambiguously supports the will of these two Caucasus peoples". But any Kremlin move to recognise the breakaway regions would trigger condemnation in the United States and Europe, which have repeatedly insisted on respect for Georgia's territorial integity.

So there we have it. The Allies will shortly be launching a full-scale condemnation. We expect air-strikes of dissaproval followed by the launch of long-range handbags. The initial assault will then be followed by lengthy sulking and not talking to the Russians.

It is expected to be over by Christmas.
    Bored.

Didnt the Russians throw a hissy fit over the will of the people of Chechnya?

Just piss and wind. The biggest fear of the nuclear super powers must be that their weapons won't work properly, and the other side's will. I base this post lunchtime booze session musing on the fact that the "awe-inspiring" technically excellent, keyhole surgery-like weapons we and the Yanks used in the last Iraq war were, in fact, sometimes duds that missed their targets, never launched, or blew-up short of the target.

Its a strange decision by Russia given that North Ossetia (and Chechnya) is within their county. What do they think the North Ossetians are going to do ?

Maybe its an attempt to highlight Kosovo as a double standard even further. It does however serve the Georgians right for being a bunch of civilian murdering tosspots.

Rather, I think that after a few years of independence, the South Ossetians will decide to formally become part of the greater russia, as opposed to the North Ossetians deciding to become part of a greater Ossetia.
The Mods stole my post count!

If Kosovo is legitimate in Western Eyes and South Ossetia in Russia's eyes then Why not Tamil Eelam? They are fighting for self determination and against Srilankan Racists for well over a generation now.

I hear the WII version will be coming out shortly, with a WII-mote add-on Hand-bag, whilst the Wii Fit board comes with a pair jack boots and a printed dust cover of georgia so you can simulate stamping over it!!!
