    DVD to ISO tool

    Is there free tool that will let me create (and mount) an image file from a DVD disk ?

    This will let you create it:

    I suggest daemon tools for mounting it.

    Of course make sure you own it first yadda yadda legal stuff etc !!

      Easy

      Create the image

      dd if=/dev/dvd of=/root/myiso.iso

      Mount the image

      mount -t iso9660 -o loop /root/myiso.iso /mnt

        Virtual CloneDrive Virtual CloneDrive works and behaves just like a physical CD/DVD drive, however it exists only virtually. Image files generated with CloneDVD or CloneCD can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.

        Load Virtual CloneDrive. Find the iso on your pc, right click it, go to 'open with', select Virtual CloneDrive. You will see it as another drive.

            The SlySoft stuff is excellent. My only other suggestion for mounting ISO files as drives is MagicDisc.
