    A team that had hoped to break the world land-speed record for a wind-powered vehicle is blaming climate change for its failure.

    Indeed - they are making the same mistake as so many climate-change-deniers, that of confusing variation in weather conditions with variation in climate.

      Variability in climate is chaotic at all scales - whether this is 10 or 150 years or millions of years. There are short and long term trends in climate, just as there are with the weather, but I don't believe climate scientists state AGW as an absolute certainty. In other words the mistake is made on both sides, at least at the popular science level.
