One for paddy and other Putin lovers

2 days ago Putin said: "There is no crisis of liquidity in Russia"

Stock exchanged dropped through the floor and now Govt (Putin is PM) is offering $30 bln for liquidity to top 3 banks - all Govt affiliated - and they stopped stock exchange from trading as it dropped 10% more today.

What a great manager Putin is.

This shows how incompetent he really is both in his predictions and also in his actions - watch that space for more and remember 1998.

Russian stock market fallen much further than West's - you should open your eyes and look at current Russian events unfolding - they stopped stock exchange from trading, nobody can sell.

The point I was making is how bad Putin is in economics (and he is a Prime Minister) - just 2 days ago he claims no crisis of liquidity (and he was saying Russia won't be affected by subprime stuff at all) and 2 days later his Govt has to put a lot of money, naturally selectively into companies affiliated with Govt - everyone will probably be screwed and Putin's mates buy them on the cheap.

For a start, wind your neck back in.

Secondly, Putin has advisors, they help him make the decisions.

The whole of the worlds markets are in turmoil at the moment.

His choice of advisors is his responsibility. Actually (since you don't follow Russian affairs) his Govt advisors were talking about crisis and he was just refusing to listen to them.

Yes but some countries are more so than others.

                  Look at RTS index: http://stock.rbc.ru/demo/rts.1/daily/RTSI.rus.shtml

Did Dow drop as much in the same time? No. NASDAQ? No.

Russian stock bubble is imploding with the dropping price of oil - soon Mr Putin will have to show if he has got real skills of operating under strong financial pressure, I am looking forward to his no-doubt inventive economic moves - selective Govt support during that period would be good indication shares of which companies he and his mates personally own

Indeed. Russians in general lack long term strategic thinking and do not understand consequences of decisions they make until it's too late.
