    Squirrel hunting is challenging undertaking

    Link: Detroit Free Press

I've heard some people say that a .22 magnum or a .17 do too much damage to a squirrel, so they use a regular .22 long rifle," Schaffer said. "I haven't found that a magnum or .17 is any more damaging, and if you're honest, a .22 long rifle is designed for 50-yard shots.

"I like to try for head shots on squirrels, so you're talking about a target area roughly the size of a quarter. Even if you shoot for the chest, it's only a couple of inches wide. That doesn't leave much room for error at 75-100 yards."

He rarely uses a shotgun because of the noise.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
