I was on the rock last week. Nice views of the bay and the audio tour is excellent. That birdman fellow was just misunderstood.

Apparently Branson was also approached to provide sponsorship to Newcastle United when Northern Rock got into bother. However, he declined, saying it would be inappropriate to emblazon the word "Virgin" on their shirts when they got forked every week!!

Northern Rock still sponsor Newcastle United because the Rock is a 'going concern'.
