Dispatches just gave a very interesting show on just how easy it is to get one up and running. Licensing laws are a push over

20K is not enough for most businesses like a shop etc.

How about a market stall - fruit 'n' veg, household goods, etc?
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Someone tried to set up a lapdancing club in my home town. It didn't catch on as there was no interest. No one's going to pay to see semi-naked trollops cavorting about when they can see it for free :-)

I just watched the story of Larry Flint , the Hustler creator.

He started off with a lap dancing club 40 years ago. Then moved to create Hustler , the most controversial porn mag in the evil United states.

But with the internet now ....

Having fiished a gig I now completly feel thrown off by PCs. I hate working with them , I want to be like Larry Flint , or Steve Jobs , life is to short to waste it by being an IT techie.

clearly you don't like working in IT

How about investing in an IT company and getting someone else to do the hard work for you?

                PM atw for details

Seriously though, at least pick something you like doing and you think there will be some genuine interest in and custom for.
Any startup is full of risks and there will be a certain amount of luck involved in making it a success

                  20k!!!!!

I spent more than that on advertising last year.
You need to get serious. My stationary budget is 6k, and I spent over 70k on equipment.

Unless you are talking about an online part time plan B.
