    Huge job losses announced

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7663208.stm

Channel 4 has abandoned plans to set up three digital radio stations, blaming a slump in advertising revenues.

The broadcaster's chief executive, Andy Duncan, said the decision was taken "very reluctantly", but admitted the enterprise had become unaffordable.

Channel 4's withdrawal will lead to the loss of 15 jobs, but the broadcaster will try to redeploy the employees in other areas of the organisation.

Damn it's getting grim out there!

Seems a bit pointless investing in more radio stations and anyway they should go for analogue. Much cheaper to transmit and receivers (radio sets) are much simpler and cheaper to run too.
