Using the term “Nationalisation” is very popular in the media and others with the ‘left-wing’ personality disorder, but it is not accurate. The banks are not going to be nationalised; some have that is true. What has been proposed that banks that need to be recapitalised will have the ability to sell some shares to the government as well as privately. In many cases these are preference shares, and hence, non-voting which means that the government will have little say in running of the bank either on a day-to-day or strategic basis. The assets of the bank (what the are of them) will not appear on the balance sheet of the government only their position in the banks stock.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

It is a partial one in the US. Bond market closed for Columbus day, but the equity markets should be open.

Will they close the whole global system? Proberbly the worst thing they could do - so they proberbly will.

                  Jolly good.

Its just a new approach of managing capitalism - but we do need a new term - erm - the Peoples Banking Sector perhaps ?
