I thought this was about Sven Ericksons payout from the FA - remember he gets 1 million pounds every year for five years for his maginificent performance with England last World Cup - the new capitalism which rewards faliure.

No wonder the global economy is in a right mess.

If he does say no, they'll be a deal done for him to be awarded something else after he steps down from his new position. Seen it all before - he'll get the amounts now or later no matter what.

He's doing us all a favour because it's his ilk that will help the Tories to win the next election.

Yesterday Mr Mandelson also faced questions over trade concessions worth up to £50million a year to Russia's richest man.

It emerged that this summer, while still trade commissioner, Mr Mandelson was entertained on a yacht owned by aluminium tycoon Oleg Deripaska.

Mr Mandelson's trade department has twice acted to cut European aluminium import duties. Mr Deripaska's company Rusal, the world's largest producer of aluminium, was one of the main beneficiaries.

A spokesman for Mr Mandelson said: 'He has never, ever had any discussion with Mr Deripaska about aluminium or anything else in relation to any of his company interests.

'The tariffs were the subject of a huge debate among 27 member states, not something Peter Mandelson as an individual decided.'

hmmm, wonder what they talked about then...

            Older and ...well, just older!!

.... and Blair didn't talk to Bernie Ecclestone about F1 cigarette advertising.

This appears to be politicospeak for if they where any closer they would be sh@gging.

Hopefully Mandelson will fall foul of some oligarch and end up falling out of a cart of the London Eye or something.
