In all the years I have never had blatant fishing, now I feel I can really join the ranks of the frelancers!!!

Trouble is you have to be nice, so I get a call, can we have a quick chat we specialise in what you do, ok I thought. Chat goes on, explain what you do, thought about other technologies? etc etc. Then at the end, we'd like to help you at the end of your contract, if you send us a couple of references now it will make the process smoother. Similarly do you know anyone else who would benefit from a chat with us?

Feel like invoicing them for a days work, after all that's what they want me to do!!

Not for long it bloody doesn't.

There are people who like you and want to spend time with you; but agents are not those. He's talking to you because he might gain from it, you're talking to him because you might gain from it. That includes the case where you have nothing to gain at the moment but might later, so you do talk to him. But only until your interests diverge.

2 so far this morning. My politeness is wearing thin, and its not even lunch
