A family friend's son also had the same tragic accident, was a really lovely boy, went to uni and joined the rugby team, and had the same accident, took over a year to get him out of the hospital, he was paralyzed from the neck down.... now some years after the accident he is working as a programmer (don't ask me how, but there is some kind of special speach recognition tools), has a house fitted with all the disabled technology, and he even drives a car (again don't ask me how, but its a special disabled car)

What's the house worth? What's the car worth? What does he earn?

There was a guy on my course at university, who had demolished his mums car and a bus shelter. Limited movement in his arms, but otherwise paralysed from neck down. He was the only one to get a first, because a) he was smart b) socialising opportunies were perforce, limited. But he lives a full and productive life.

He worked on projects for different methods of interacting with computers. One of these was a helmet with a light-wand. And that was in the 80s, so I imagine things have moved on somewhat.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

No, it just indicates that they've got the resources to undertake such a venture.

and to be fair what's wrong with having the ability to take legally take your life exactly.

It shouldnt be that they have the money, it should be that you have the right!

                  Agreed.

If I want to take my life - why can the law tell me that I cannot.

The govt thinking that people need protecting from themselves again.

Isn't the question here about people helping others to take their life - not the right of people to take their own life?
