Bournemouth council bans the use of Latin phrases!!

A Campaign spokesman said the ban might stop people confusing the Latin abbreviation e.g. with the word "egg".

You couldn't make it up!!

There was a good article on this in Sunday's Observer.

Someone was quoted as saying that people only use these Latin phrases to boost their own ego.

I just loved the use of the Latin word "ego" in the attack on Latin words!

Exactly, where do they draw the line, why not ban words of Greek, French, German or Arab origins too?
