Americans, when presented with a literate, intelligent chap, and someone resembling the “it’s” man from Monty Python, could usually be relied on to choose the biggest cretin of the two. This time, at last, they’ve chosen the one with the brains to string together a sentence.

He is not Tony Blair. He did not get crowned easily as the leader of the party just because the other one died, he won very tough primary against Clinton and I doubt before 2008 even 10% of people thought that was possible.

The guy is very clever and deserved to win - he will have done his job well if he manages to restore pre-Bush respect of USA around the world (well, excluding 1/7 of the planet).
