    Reality TV

Can someone please explain to me what is realistic about a group of celebrities performing various tricks for the camera in the jungle ?

If I was to decide to get a trip to the jungles of Borneo or wherever, is it even remotely possible that I might, after serveral days of hacking my way through the undergrowth, stumble across a group of has-beens on a TV set trying to eke out an existence ?

    Pah.

Now, if it was a case of peoper "Reality TV", they'd send each celebrity a plane ticket to xyz, and once the aircraft was en route, engineer a malfunction and have the plane crash land in the jungle.

Then, amidst the flaming wreckage and bodies, the survivors would have to pull themselves together and really try to survive in the jungle.

You'd need to have monkeys trained with head cams or lots of live satellite footage of course, but I think the show would be a lot more realistic.

It'd quite possibly end up like some sort of "Lord of the Flies" experiment, which is no bad thing, as the audiences would be able to be educated about group dynamics, leadership, barbarity and other such things, as opposed to just watching something passively without having to think for themselves.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
