I did say on this board a few years ago, that putting all the off-shored financial eggs in the basket of India was going to end in tears, and I did say "Has no one done a risk assessment" ?
Here they come...home to roost....Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The time a few years ago when India and Pakistan threatened to wipe each other off the map, should have been all the warning the outsourcers needed, but saving a few rupees won out.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

this is actually alot worse than people think - as DR and Data Centres are terms not present in IT over in Mumbai due to really bad comms infrastructure - but I wonder how many UK/USA businesses will clock on!Comment

Yes - but youd be an idiot to even go there as the training is tulipe!
They pretty much hit all the western hotels of value and rumour has it that it may be a coordinated attack so Delhi may kick off unless they lock down...IT wise all the major stuff is in Chennai and Banglore so that should be okComment

And the incursions of foreign Indian I.T. employees working in the UK is a concern to me, I mean how intensely are they screened by the companies employing them cheap to work in mainland Britain ?
What is to stop an IT guy from India / Pakistan who has terrorist beliefs from entering say a trade floor on day 1 of his Canary Wharf investment banking job and then blowing himself up with his rucksack on a major trade floor ?
Sometimes I think that many IT companies scutinise and do more credit checks on UK permanent resident permie and contract staff than these foreign dudes working for a cheap foreign body shop.Comment
