I think there will be even more tedious thread's spreading doom and gloom

Pedantry will also become more popular as bench sitter's have time to check others post's for apostrophy use

there will be more roles than there are now, but rates will be lower and the tulipe will be on the bench. It is merely survival of the elite!

What makes you think there will be more roles? What companies will be hiring more people than laying them off?

I don't understand what you think will be driving the economy to take on more IT contractors (i.e. more roles on offer)?
