    Service in this country

Had a new printer delivered today - did some research and plumped for the
Epson C2800N colour workgroup laser printer - ordered yesterday and delivered today.

BUT ... It was dead on arrival.

I ring Misco who just transfered me to Epson.

Epson guy says switch it off for 15mins and retry, and call back if its still an issue
    .
Called back after that and was told its a DOA, they won't accept a return, they'll send an engineer out, within 16 hours, but as its gone 4pm on Thursday it'll probably be Monday or Tuesday.

so Thursday 4pm + 16 hours = Tuesday in the world of Epson.

so I'm really glad I opted for next day delivery so I'd be up and running today

No wonder nobody is spending money in this country - the service is crap.

You should be able to return it to Misco - just do that.

Yep - that's just not good enough, legally your contract is with Misco - not Epson.

Google, research (consumer goods act I think) and go back to Misco with a stern word...

I nearly took Misco to court, ordered a router through them and they sent me the wrong item. Took me 6 months to get the money back and they only paid up when I sent them the "this is going to court if you do not pay by Friday" letter.

A few companies are trying this on now, where they direct you to the manufacturer - Comet being a prime example.

Maybe don't phone up and describe the problem. Just phone up and say you need to return it, or even post it and then phone them to let them know.

Then they charge a 20% restocking fee IIRC
