    Apparently Edward had to pay 'huge compensation' for causing a run on a bank. Lets hope that the courts read of this precedent in time for the Jan 13th Judicial Review !!!

      IMO, a parallel of today is as below (80 years ago).
      Gordon Brown must think he can gain the Kudos of "saving the system" like J.P.Morgan did without suffering the recrimination.

          The problem is that he can't 'save' the massive ongoing deficit which is predicted to rise to 150 Billion next year that he has created and done nothing to rectify.

              Umm... the article suggests that the 1294 credit crunch was caused by the actions of the Pope, the King of France, and the King of England - all of them heads of their various states, not bankers.
