Sales of 100W incandescent light bulbs surge

Yesterday panic buyers were snapping up the remaining bulbs in a last-ditch attempt to stockpile the final supplies. Hundreds of leading supermarkets and DIY chains - including Sainsbury's, Asda and Homebase - have already sold their last remaining bulbs after a surge in panic buying. Other stores say they have enough stocks to last until the end of next week.

But we can still get 60W bulbs?

    I don't use 100 Watt anyway.

Lets face it, bulbs with Mercury in are much greener aren't they?

Once the shelves are clear will they not be restocked?

Is there an official end date beyond which they will not be available?

I believe so - until next year. I expect you will still be able to get them from specialist shops or on the black market though.

              Q. How many politicians does it take to change a light bulb law ?

Just checked also in Switzerland they've gone as well.

There was a programme on German Television where they pointed out that the new lamps are bad for your health as they emit a blue light which affects the production of the sleep hormone.

Looks like they've just reduced life expectancy in Europe.

Not by selling these 'terror bulbs', clandestinely?

Govt will get you under the terrorism act - Supplier of Eco destruction devices Act 2009

Using these bulbs? - Anti Green Eco Enviromental terrorism Act 2009

Expect a brigade of light police to be peeking into your windows and doing survaillance using the latest spectro light meters. On the spot fines £1000 per terror bulb will help fill govt coffers.
