Man too fat to adopt (not economy)

OK, here's one for you. A 24st bloke in leeds has been refused the right to adopt because he's 24 stone and has a BMI of 42. Is this right?

I say no. If he can give a kid a good home, then let him.

'A couple from Leeds have been told they cannot adopt because one of them is too fat.'

Just one of them is fat?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

I think it is to do with BMI

        I think it's really unfair.

I mean, if they're too fat to f*** then how else are they going to claim their child benefit other than by adopting?

Anyway. Is 24st considered 'fat' for Leeds?

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

They assume that a parents eating and leisure habits will be passed on to the kid....which is probably true.

I would say that a kid is better off being fat than in care though surely?

They are not two unemployed lesbians - of course they won't be allowed to adopt!

Maybe they were worried the fat barstewards might fall/sit on the kid and crush it
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

                    seems fair enough to me

you have to consider at what point their health might be detrimental to the welfare of the child
