Well that's secured £100m to ensure senior exec bonuses are back to normal next year.

    What recession?

Alternatively, they may offer you the opportunity to do the work of 2,100 other people in return for a 20% rate cut

Seriously though, sorry to hear it

In my daily Jobserve mail there have been a number of jobs for Knutsford and Northampton which I would presume are all Barclays. I've been seeing them for at least 6 weeks now so I presume that this is an area that pretty niche (GIS). It looks like that they're still taking some people on
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Woo hooo I was ok, but another 10% rate cut thats 20% in total, but at least I've got another 3months of keeping the money come in, then I'm selling my body.

Odds are they're looking to fill places that are now vacated by making permies redundant or contractors who wouldn't take rate cuts, that's assuming that they aren't vapourware positions.

I saw this on the news a week ago
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Barclays have a history of booting out contractors only to hire a bunch back within 6 months, so I wouldn't worry too much.
