Will Labour ask IMF for another handout?

Will the Labour government have to ask the International Monetary Fund for an emergency loan like they did in 1976?

    Poll to follow.

Snap general election this spring, followed shortly by an IMF bailout.

I think you're underestimating Broon's talent for prolonging the agony.

His inability to risk losing. He has been waiting all his life to see someone capable of doing anything worthwhile in British politics get into Downing St, and now that it has happened for the first time (him) he can't let the People down, he has to stay. He can't take the risk of being voted out, it would be a disaster for Britain.

I'm thinking the IMF will demand massive public sector spending cuts as a condition for any loan. The good news here is that will spell the end of New Labour for half a generation.

The problem is that if he leaves it too long, where will the IMF get the money from...
