Second Job Tax

Hi All

My sister is getting a part time job in a hotel on the weekend and was asking me about how they will work out her tax....will she be put on BR tax code as she is already paying tax or would she be put on the same tax code ?

If she already pays tax and NI, then she will go on to BR (basic rate), where all her income is subject to PAYE, as she has used-up her tax-free entitlement at her other job.

It is her employer's responsibility to ask her the right questions when she signs all her forms - and it is her responsibility to tell them her current situation.
