    Online exchange rate service

(Sorry, I guess this really belongs in Technical, but ...)

Can anyone suggest an exchange rate lookup web service, readily accessible programmatically, where you provide from and to currency codes, such as GBP to USD, and it returns the current exchange rate?

I'm not interested in interactive services, which are two a penny (or about 1.8 a cent).

Also, a free service would be better. But the client doesn't mind paying a modest subscription for a reliable service.

    AnticiTHANKSpation.

If always "borrowed" the data from Yahoo using:

    http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s={0}{1}=X&f=a&e=.txt

where {0} is the from currency symbol and {1} is the to currency symbol and .txt is the return type (can be .csv as well)

    e.g.

    http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/...D=X&f=a&e=.txt

          Google's:
          http://finance.google.co.uk/finance?q=USDGBP or
          http://finance.google.co.uk/finance?q=GBPUSD

          no good? Or a gadget

I guess not as these are listed first in Google

            I already answered this one.

Simple single value returned, free and simple.

            Now move on losers!

DP, do you have the syntax to return a single stock quote?

Interested in your quote Badger as it relates to the Cosmic Dream of the Brahamin which I mentioned earlier.

In other words - it is only - and it ever was - just a dream.

Time to Wake Up - forever.
