    Here is the proof ...

... that the so called 'credit crunch' is not what it seems ...

Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival have sold out, organisers announced today.
No headline acts have been confirmed for the event, which will take place in late June.

An early ticket deposit scheme was launched in October, and organisers said the "vast majority" of festival-goers completed their full payment by 1 February.

Emily Eavis, who runs Glastonbury with her father Michael, said: "We're chuffed to bits that we've managed to sell so many tickets so far ahead, especially when you look at the weather outside.

"Thanks to everyone for keeping the faith; it's certainly shaping up to be another vintage year for the Glastonbury Festival, with a brilliant line up to be unveiled in June."

Last year around 3,000 tickets remained unsold in the days leading up to the festival.

1)Last year was largely due to having hip-hop artist JZ as the main billing... it caused a lot of complaints. I thought the festival normally sold out early, and last year was a blip.

2)On Working Lunch recently, a few people have said that in recession, spending on entertainment can be strong as people cancel holidays/new cars but still need something to make life worthwhile

3)Are students really the demographic most affected by a recession?

Well I tend to agree with Richard Bransons remarks at the weekend that the 'recession' bottomed out in December.

Recent activiy from the housing market in both the UK and the US would support this.

If you consider 'qui bonum' (whos profits? ) from this 'credit crunch' - Wall St Bankers - City Financial people at the very top have made fantastic volumes of money in the shape of bonuses - remember a bonus is performance related - aha !

Meanwhile companies are cashing in by slashing workforces thereby boosting shareholder profit and of course the never ending queue for endless government handouts.

And who is the biggest loser - who foots the bill - Taxpayers and workers - all cannon fodder for the Wall Street executive welfare program.

        Time Will Tell.

A bunch of smelly students buying tickets for a crusty gig, spending less money than a couple of set menus and a house red at a reasonable restaurant. Wow!

How much are the tickets and how many are sold?

Say 100,000 at £40 each? Which is 4million? So about 0.001% of what the banks have dropped.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
