After drinking in the £20-30 range I am keen to step my single malt up a notch to the £40-50 range... mainly to see if I can tell the difference, I'm happy to find my palate isn't refined enough and I can stay on the cheaper stuff
I'm not into the smoky tastes, I've narrowed it down to 3, all types I've tasted in younger varieties - I specifically want to try something I know to increase the scientific authenticity of the experiment...

Any connoisseurs have any thoughts? One or two are cask stength and I'm not that keen on having to mix with water, I'd prefer something I can pour and drink and know it's tasting as intended.
