    Taking exercise

    The doctor has said I've got to start taking some exercise . I'm sure I don't know what he's getting at.
    tubby smiley -->

    Anyway, he sent me to the Practice Nurse and, courtesy of some web site, has given me the benefit of the on-line wisdom of the NHS.

    This is the 'NICE Exercise Programme for IT Specialists' she came up with:

    *** WARNING - THIS EXERCISE MAY BE TOO STRENUOUS FOR SOME PEOPLE. ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAMME. ***

    You might want to take it easy at first, then do it faster as you become more proficient.

    NOW SCROLL DOWN...

    AND NOW SCROLL UP... Feel the burn?

    Can anyone recommend something a bit less taxing? I don't want my carpal tunnel syndrome to intefere with my drinking again.

    You should go on more pub crawls, more beer, more walking about.

    Job done.

            Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
