Al Qatada given compensation, and might escape deportation to Jordan.

Why do we stand for this? Putin wouldn't. Come to think it, Abdullah of Jordan wouldn't. Certainly Al Qatada wouldn't.

What I don't understand is that he got into the country using false documentation in the first place because he was wanted for offences in his home country. Surely on that basis alone he should have been booted out long ago...way before he could peddle his religious tripe??
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - Epicurus

It's a shame he wasn't given more compensation.

Then he would have had all his Social Security benefits stopped - and maybe (? ianal) his legal aid; might have saved taxpayers quite a bit of money in the long run - or the short term if he couldn't afford to continue this charade.
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.
