        That article has a definite ring of truth. If things get much worse, a bad outbreak of bird flu will be a practically a blessed relief if it whittles down the population, causes property prices to plummet, and gives young people a chance to get going.

        I may sound like a callous monster saying that, but I and my nearest and dearest will all be taking our chances along with everyone else.

        But what's the betting that in those circs the imbecile Government would invite in literally millions more immigrants to fill the gap, and blow everyone's chances (including those of surviving immigrants already here).
