So they don't want much for their 15 quid an hour!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

But they will probably be inundated with desperate ex-permies with mortgages to pay.

I'm guessing your point is that they are asking a lot, for not a lot?

Maybe. But based on approx 22 working days a month it's still around £2K takehome a month which is better than a kick in the teeth in the current climate.

No different really to a middle management role at many blue chips with the benefits of being able to claim full mileage allowance and without the myriad of "permie" hoops to jump through.

Never heard of NES IT though.

That's the "optimistic" calculation. You can "claim full mileage allowance" against your income, not against the client/employer. The actual travel is likely to be higher than a permie because most of us would not relocate for a contract. And 22 working days a month would be awfully hard to maintain over the year. Add the usual holiday, public holidays, sick time, bench time...

        My number-cruncher says take-home £928.71 per month.

        £125/day,
        average 20 days/month,
        work 11 months (so 1 month bench/year),
allow another 20 days for public holidays, Christmas closure etc.
        Expenses £1000/month.
        PAYE.

        So invoice £25000/year, expenses £11000/year, gross salary £12367/year, net salary £11144.49/year, = £928.71/month.

Yes, it's better than a kick in the teeth.

Indeed, in this climate it's better to have something than nothing, and £928 a month is better than £60pw JSA.

Such is our industry and the climate we are in.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

And it's better than minimum wage. Almost £9 per week better. OTOH I might just check my local Domino's: they pay up to £8.50 an hour, this job (for a contractor who is not local) comes to less than £6 an hour). American Beauty?

Sorry Mich... wasn't trying to take the p*ss out of you. Seriously I was trying to see which is the worst rate advertised for a role, based on requirements.
