    Covertable for the summer

Mrs gooner and I are planing a driving trip round northern Italy and the Alps this summer as part of our month off.

I want to buy a TVR to do it in, but she's heard there not that reliable and wants something differant......what do people think ? Is a TVR a good car for this, or is there something else I should be looking at ??? We'll be doing about 3000 miles.

    Looking to spend about 10k

He says he wants to drive 3000 miles, not 3.

          Luggage space?

          2 seater or 4 seater?

          Fast or frugal?

2 seater, need enough space for 2 suitcases.....

                TVRs are apparently very unreliable.

look for BMW Z4, Merc CLK, Honda S2000 you may even get an old but well maintained Boxter for that money

Not many 2-seater convertibles can swallow 2 full size suitcase.

A TVR is probably more reliable than your English......

You're probably far better off looking for rental agencies in Italy/France/Switzerland that will supply a suitable car. Shop around and you can probably pick and choose the make and model.

With a rental reliability isn't an issue and you will have the entertaining drive without the tedious drive to the Alpine region as you can just fly there and spend the extra time in the areas you want to visit.
