I sat next to Rodney Marsh today on the Train and he told me a mildly racist story. Should I have made a citizens arrest, rather than politely smilling at him?

Should I inform Gordon Brown?

On at least 2 occasions I have seen the blonde one from birds of a feather wandering through chapel st market in islington, and each time she's had a face like a bulldog licking pss off a thistle.

Do I win £5?

Posh Spice walked came out a shop in front of me in New York, it was hilarious, about 50 photographers were waiting at the door, then she tries to nip out a side door and they all charge down the road knocking folk out the way. She is tiny, must be about 6 stone.

At Church on Sunday I did the music to this little play the prospective confirmands wrote and acted in.

The director was Martin Miehe-Renard

Which was nice.

I would be surprised if most on here actually know who Rodney Marsh is.

Either that or I haven't kept up with the times and there is now a Rodney Marsh that doesn't don the sky blue.

I sat next to Eddie Jordan (of Formula One) on a plane once. I was thinking he was either weird or that I knew him from somewhere, but couldn't place him at the time. It wasn't until he got off the plane that I realised who he was, specifically when people were saying it's Eddie Jordan.

I once used a pelican crossing on the Euston Road and Fergal Sharkey was crossing towards me from the other side - does that count? (I did buy one of his records once :o)

OK, not impressive enough eh?

I once smoked a cigarette in the smoking area at the arrivals in Heathrow Terminal Three after a flight from the far east and Gail Porter was in there too (this was before her illness, and when there was still a smoking area). There's an equality among smokers that transcends celebrity and social class.

OK, not impressive enough eh?

I once used the urinals in a pub on the Isle of Dogs at the same time as Steve McFadden from EastEnders when I was there to watch the London Marathon go past.

OK, not impressive enough eh?

I was in the local pub once and Peter Davison popped in to ask for directions.

OK, not impressive enough eh?

I was standing at the parade ring at Wincanton Racecourse once watching the horses go round and realised that I was standing next to Harry Redknapp.

OK, not impressive enough eh?

Last year I was having lunch in a hotel in Barcelona and Thierry Henry was sat at the next table having his lunch (accompanied by a very good looking blonde, and with a colossal minder hanging about).

OK, not impressive enough eh?

No, I think that is about it for me - I don't come across many of the a-list let alone the z-list in the course of my day to day life.

I was in The Ivy the same night as Michael & Shakira Caine, Valentino, Jude Law, Tom Ford and that Scottish bloke who was in Gregory's Girl. Valentino came and spoke to my missus.

In other various restaurants I've also sat on the next table to Alan Sugar, Terry Venables (not at the same time), Zara Phillips, Felicity Kendal, Terence Stamp, Derek Jacobi - loads more.

David Milliband got on my train carriage and we both complained about a father and son in the quiet bit in 1st class playing on their PSPs.

I've stood next to Sylvester Stallone (Short and very wide) and Ray Liotta (very squeaky voice in real life).

I was once at Honolulu airport (a few years ago now) at the same time as David Hasselhof.

I only noticied him as I went around the corner looking for the bog (sorry, Rest Room). As I passed by, one of his minders come's bounding up to me saying "no autographs, no autographs", at this stage I actually noticed "The Hoff" and politely replied, "that's fine, actually, if it's all the same to you, I was just going to have a poo".

More recently I was stood in a queue for security at Stansted Airport behind Steve Pemberton (League of Gentlemen) who was on his way to Malaga with wife and kids. I didn't recognise him at first, and started to strike up a conversation with him (it was a very, very long queue). What a miserable git.

In 1991 sat next to Samantha Fox on a flight from Boston back to the UK. Didn't recognise her, but saw the name in her passport shortly before landing. Had to check some photos afterwards to confirm it was her, as I had only a vague idea who she was and what she looked like.

Stood a few feet from Mike Tyson at Gatwick airport. He was much shorter than I expected, considerably smaller than his minder, but the deep scars on his face made him look scary.

Went to a wedding do last year and Freddie Flintoff and KP were there and drinking impressive amounts.

Was in a nightclub in Vegas (Voodoo Lounge) and Prince was playing in the basement, afterwards he came up with his bandmembers and brought everyone drinks for the night.

Was in Manchester and bumped (literally) into Frank Bruno, even though it was my fault, he apologised about 5 times.

When live aid was on a few years back, I got a backstage pass from my sister who worked for AOL and met loads of peeps, really wanted to meet Slash and managed to grab a few words with him. Met David Bowie and he was funny as f**k.

Some of the people I have come across....

Met John Lennon at a party in Paris in the late 60's. He gave me a signed photo before I went home to bed.

Used to live next door to Supertramp in Portugal in the 70's where they were holed up doing something or other. They used to pop round when we had a party. Also Mungo Jerry lived just down the road for a while and went to school with some expat royalty there

Used to occasionally drink with one of the guys from Procul Harum many years ago in Brentwood. Another lived below us and he had a Finnish wife who used to sunbathe topless underneath my bedroom window

Met a number of blues musicians as they all used to play round the corner from the local and we wuz regular guests. This old long haired bloke kept getting in the way of me and the bar and I had to have words with him until someone pointed out it was Rory Gallagher

Lemmy (who was drinking with Charlie Harper in the Marquee) told me to **** off when I suggested that they should let some younger people have a go

Met and played in bands with various ex-members of Hawkwind, Gong, Here and Now, Iron Maiden, etc. on and off. One of the friendliest chaps I met was Nik Turner who saw us standing outside and invited us backstage prior to the gig for a chat, a drinkie poo, a smokie poo and general shenanigans

Had to interview Hawkwind for a German TV channel as the bloke who was doing it couldn't actually speak much English so he asked me if I would do the honours. got in free to the gig as well!

Had that bloke who sings in the Sisters of Mercy stand next to me with his bouncers at a Sex Pistols gig, boy is he short! Had a nice converstaion with him though

Met loads of those American grunge and Alternative bands, i.e Sebadoh, Yo La Tenga, Mudhoney, etc.

Lots of other stuff including being the star attraction in a TV Eye documentary in the early 80's about motorcycle accidents.

I also spent an hour with Bobby Ferguson (ex-Chelsea and Fulham manager) having a few beers when he was doing a football prize-giving at Bisham Abbey for my girlfriend, who was a manager there at the time. She had hired him but was embarrassed because she did not know what he looked like, so asked me to point him out on arrival. As he turned up in a 'Roller' it really should not have been a problem !! :laugh

Led Zep played at my cousin's wedding, with my cousin on drums. Which would have been lovely if I even had the faintest idea who they were at the time.

Apart from that, had a nice chat with Goldie Hawn, Eric Idle and Melvyn Bragg whilst waiting for a show to start.

Other than that, I see the fellers from Portishead fairly regularly as one of their kids goes to playgroup with one of mine. The drummer from the Manics sends his kid to preschool there but I've not met him. Short feller though. Had drinks in NY with Garbage, smoked with Howard Marks and been invited to stay at Marlon Brando's place when we were in that neck of the woods too.

But best of all, I saw Leo Sayer on Bondai Beach a few years back. Beat That!

Met most of the England Rugby team... most of the Wasps team too. A few of the Irish team - when they were a lot younger though.

Met Alan Shearer at Dublin Airport once.

Johnny Logan on holiday two years in a row... he remembered us from the first year :o

P Y Gerbot... or however you spelt it... Mr Millenium Dome.

Saw Jimmy Carr in starbucks in Manchester last week. See Jamie thingy a lot, who used to play for Liverpool.

Met Arsen Wenger on Deansgate once and got his autograph for my bro who is fan... My sis thought he was the sweedish fella, Sven and asked him why he was wearing an arsenal jacket and not an England one. Thankfully he laughed his ass off.

Can't think of anymore but there are always a load of soap stars/Z listers around town.
