    Just wondering like.

The cost of renting a home has continued to fall as UK householders let out their homes in a bid to beat the recession.

Two surveys suggest that there has been a surge in properties available to rent, pushing down costs for tenants.

So, what are yields like these days? I sold my BTL properties near the peak to hold cash.

It's all very well, but what do you do with the cash?

It's all in bank accounts (mostly fixed rate ones I secured at about 5%) awaiting the right property (family home) to buy.

So not being used to invest, being used now to get a family home in the country to live in.

As long as you're able to withdraw the cash once inflation raises its pretty little head.

Gold coins, tinned food and crossbows for me.

put your nest egg in, pull your nest egg out,
do the hokey cokey when the interest earnt is nowt,
Paying for the feckless and the Banker's greedy snout,
              That's what it's all about..

Very small sample sizes there. Hmm.
