Assuming that you mean the London street and not the railway station in Manchester, then surely the only contractor answer is the Ritz?

Although Park Lane is close by. I like the Dorchester myself.

Described as London's most central hostel! I bet that will quiet! Still : if you are on a budget it sounds good.

It is described on its own website(!) as

Spread over 5 clean levels, a fantastic crew of staff

so that is two of the requested criteria met at least!

Washington Mayfair in Curzon St. Usually have some deals on if you call them direct. Very nice and without the Bridges & Tunnels brigade.

I don't fancy the Ritz. And we're only staying one night, so additional services aren't interesting.
